Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (384 pages)
Imagine a futuristic United States where the Capitol rules everything. Each year the 12 districts are reminded of the Capitol's power with the annual Hunger Games. One boy and one girl between the ages of 12-18 are chosen to compete in a fight to the death. Only the winner survives. It's like Survivor, the Olympics, and Gladiator all rolled into one.
I enjoyed the story because there is no other story like it. It is a fast-paced page turner. If you like Hunger Games, you will enjoy the sequel Catching Fire.
